Here are the winning entries:
First Prize: I knit in cars, busses, airplanes, baseball games....in Europe one year, Egypt the next, and every night in front of tv! I knit 9 sweaters during the World Series games last month! The faster the game, the faster the needles fly! My miles and miles of yarn would find their way into the many sweaters I send to Knit for Kids each month. These sweaters go everywhere in the world, wherever there is a kid without a warm sweater. I send off at least 10 a month, mostly in sizes 4 though 12. Miles of yarn...what a delight that would be for me! At this time I knit mostly striped sweaters from those wonderful balls that knitters have left at the end of a project. Friends keep me in stitches...with their yarn and their friendly cheers. It would be a great pleasure for me to have 'new' yarn, albeit the leftovers I use are appreciated. The joy of being able to knit a whole sweater in one color, cables and fancy stitches determining the pattern, no stripe filling in where a color is getting sparse. 

Second Prize: 1,000 knit helmet liners for troops in Afghanistan and 50,000 mittens for 12,500 kittens.

Third Prize: I would knit a very, very long, sturdy, bulky lace scarf named Rapunzel, tie one end around my sofa and drop the other end from the window of my Brooklyn apartment, and let it waft down the street, until the perfect boy for me came along and climbed it up into my life. I mean, who would think to climb up a scarf? Only he would, that's who.  That's why he'd be perfect for me--only he'd think to climb it, and only I'd try to net a partner with a scarf!

Send an email with "I Can Knit For Miles" in the heading to: webmaster@seaportyarn.com
Include your name, address and your description of what you would knit with 100 miles of yarn (that's 176,000 yards of yarn).

• All entries must be received by midnight, November 30th, 2007
• Only email entries will be accepted
• You may enter as many times as you like, but only one prize awarded per person.
• Yarn prizes will be from our available stock. Every effort will be made to send you the yarn of your choice. We reserve the right to substitute yarn of equal value in the event we are out of stock of your choice.
• Winning entries will be announced on this page on December 15th, 2007 and winners will be notified by email
